Risks

In addition to this, the asset is known to be in poor condition. In order to prevent any damage to this water main and avoid significant consequential fines, extensive temporary works design and construction was successfully achieved.

Value engineering

A 7m meter deep cofferdam was built to facilitate the identification and diversion of two no. 1.2mØ cooling water pipes. As part of the 7m deep cofferdam, the 500mmØ water mains feeding the Slough Trading Estate required comprehensive temporary works design and installation to protect the asset during the construction of the cofferdam.

The on-site Engineers and design team worked cohesively throughout these high-risk activities to successfully meet all the client’s requirements, providing constant monitoring of the high-risk asset.
