The construction and integration of the RC industrial road, acting as the primary artery for site operations, was inherently complex. Ensuring the structural stability of the plant through meticulous grouting of steel columns was pivotal.
Risks
The introduction of RC footpaths, while improving site accessibility, required perfect alignment with other on-site activities. Underground services posed a multifaceted risk profile, involving the integration of manholes, duct pits of up to 3 metres, and laying an extensive 4000m drainage ducting.
Further complexity was introduced with the sealing of over 2,000 HV and LV ducts for fire safety and the installation of earthing boxes for electrical protection. The sudden transition from the previous civil contractor, lacking a comprehensive handover, introduced an unexpected layer of challenges.
Value engineering
The operational terrain of the Earls Gate Energy Centre EfW project was inherently intricate, intensified by the unexpected need to take over from the previous contractor. The ability of the Elysium team to quickly acclimatise and integrate with pre-existing frameworks was essential. Demonstrating remarkable resilience and adaptability, we ensured the delivery of all civil works components, from foundational infrastructures to aesthetic enhancements, with exacting precision.
